President's Message

Welcome to the Kansas City Music Teachers Association website. Our organization provides many wonderful opportunities for students and teachers. We are a group of friendly, dedicated, professional teachers seeking to continue our education and hone our teaching skills through our monthly educational workshops, student performance events and networking opportunities.

Some of the student events are Fall Festival, an opportunity for a rating and critique from a qualified adjudicator, Multi-Piano, a duet concert with 18 grand pianos and a conductor, Achievement Auditions, where students perform 2 to 3 memorized pieces from different periods as well as technique, a Concerto Recital, a Concerto Competition, Music Progressions, an event where students are tested in all areas of musicianship, and many other performing and learning opportunities. Click on “Student Programs” to see a description of each program.

If you are a music teacher, please consider joining our wonderful organization – we would love to have you! If you are the parent of a student, please let your teacher know about these opportunities.

Enjoy perusing our website, and if you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact me at lmccluer@everestkc.net.
